2025 Crop Update: A Record-Breaking Season in Motion

The 2025 growing season is a record year for Zabo Plant. Favorable growing conditions and strong cooperation with growers allow us to process our largest bulb volume ever, with full focus on quality, logistics, and timely dormancy.

The 2025 season is shaping up to be a record-breaking year for Zabo Plant. We have purchased more bulbs than ever before, making this season a true test for our logistics, capacity, and new company system. Despite the scale, the overall feeling across the team is positive and confident.

Every season brings its challenges. Whether at the grower level or within our own operations, things never go entirely without issues. This year, however, the conditions for growers were close to ideal. The growing season delivered plenty of warmth and sunlight, resulting in more large bulb sizes than initially expected. Harvest conditions were equally favorable, with dry weather allowing tractors to enter the fields smoothly. Preparation and washing at the growers looked excellent, and we received a high volume of bulbs in very good quality.

Once the bulbs arrive at Zabo Plant, their journey into dormancy begins. With an early Easter in 2026, certain varieties required priority handling. Thanks to the flexibility and cooperation of our growers, these bulbs were delivered on time.

At this moment, we have received approximately 80% of the planned volume. While the busiest peak has passed, there is still significant work ahead. We are operating 24 hours a day with three shifts of eight hours to ensure bulbs are packed and brought into dormancy as quickly as possible, as early dormancy directly supports quality. Our machinery is performing well, with only minor issues that have not slowed the process in any meaningful way.

Even though we are processing the largest volume in our history, we remain positive. Some bottlenecks have become visible, providing clear insights into where we can improve. During the off-season, we will focus on expanding and upgrading our logistics to be even better prepared for the future, with the ambition to handle even greater volumes in the seasons ahead.
